Creativity verses talent

Recently I have been re-reading Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi’s (2007) book titled Creativity, he is also the author of Flow. Mihaly presents an interesting perspective of creativity verses talent. He presents the idea that talent is different from creativity. Using the example of the pianist Mozart who, Mihaly states, was talented but that Mozart’s talent does not imply that he was also creative. What I make of this is that talent is not a necessary ingredient for creativity. Being creative can and does occur with or without talent.
